Why do some tournaments discount their entry fees and you do not? We believe that all tournaments truly know the value of their product and of their service. Tournaments that discount their entry fees are typically trying to boost sagging attendance for a product that its consumers have already voted on with their wallets. The Arsenal Challenge Cup provides top competition from around the midwest, a 4-game guarantee, the finest fields and facilities in the tri-state, high quality awards and an overall top-calibre experience for our guests. Our on-going philosophy and commitment to excellence has resulted in the ACC being ranked in the top 100 tournaments nationally and is by far the top pre-season competition in the area. History shows that our guests know the difference.
Can our team register at the field on Saturday morning? Sorry...registration is done on Friday evening ONLY.
Can our team use our own Medical Release Forms or do we have to use yours? Certainly you can use your forms as long as they correctly identify the player, are current for the fall 2008 season and indicate coverage for this tournament.
Do our release forms need to be notarized? No, notarization is not required by the ACC
My club has the same coach for more than one team. Can you schedule those teams so that they don't play at the same time? We make every effort to accommodate requests like this, however teams MUST make alternate coaching provisions in the event this request can not be honored.
We see that you use NSR to assist in bracketing your tournament...why do you not also use GotSoccer? Over the years we HAVE used GotSoccer rankings and have found that their team rankings are NOT at all reliable. We believe the concept of state and regional experts used by NSR provides a more accurate portrait of a team's true rankings.
Does your tournament accept "trapped" players? Yep...we sure do. Your team may roster a maximum of three (3) "trapped" 8th graders.
How do you bracket your teams? Teams accepted into the ACC are bracketed in a number of ways with the overall goal of providing the most competitive soccer weekend possible for each division. Many teams suggest the division in which they would like to compete, but it is the overall competitiveness and record of the teams applying for that age level that drives placement. Elite, Premier and very strong "A" teams are bracketed together based upon a number of criteria...criteria that will offer outstanding play for all. Some "A" teams may be bracketed with strong "B" level teams according to the same criteria. Recent league play, strength of league, performance in State Cup/regionals/nationals, preformance in other top-level tournaments, ranking by NSR, geography, and other criteria go in to our bracketing decisions. The Director of Competition and the Tournament Director reserve the right to modify these guidelines where indicated, again, to provide the maximum competitive brackets.
Does your tournament offer a "C" division? The ACC is a higher-level competitive soccer event and, as such, provides the best soccer experience for Elite, Premier, "A" & very strong "B" teams. We recognize that our friends at the lower "B" and at all "C" levels also want these same advantages and there are other tournaments, both on our same weekend and on other weekends in the fall season, that are better suited to provide them with this level of play. The ACC is a premier level event.
How are weather situations handled? For more detailed information, you can check our "Inclement Weather Policy"...see the link on the left rail. Generally, however, we err greatly on the side of caution as it relates to the safety of our guests. Several years ago, another local tournament on our same weekend was the victim of a lightning strike that touched a number of individuals. Since then all Ohio South tournaments have adopted a very cautious attitude when it comes to weather. When threatened by severe weather, games and game completion become unimportant as they relate to safety.
The application form does not look right on my screen (overlapping drop down boxes, long rows over the input fields, etc.) What is going on? First, you should let the ENTIRE form load BEFORE you scroll. It is a big form. In short, your computer does not have enough memory (RAM) available to render the form correctly. Here is the solution that will work in most cases: 1. Clear the cache (temporary files) in Internet Explorer (Usually Tools>Internet Options>Remove Temporary files 2. Shut down Internet Explorer 3. Restart the computer 4. Open JUST MS Internet Explorer. 5. Go to Web site, fill out form. In most cases, this will solve the problem....
We love the idea of the 4 game guarantee, but wonder if you'll give consideration to the travel time of out-of-state teams on Sunday? Of course. Out-of-state teams whose travel is lengthy will be scheduled in such a way that their games will occur as early on Sunday afternoon as possible to enable them to get on the road at a reasonable time.
Where are your fields located? The Arsenal Challenge Cup utilizes multiple complexes throughout north and west Cincinnati. This allows us to have enough quality fields to provide a great weekend of soccer for your team.
Which age groups play 8v8 and which ones play 11v11? The Cincinnati United Soccer League recently modified is playing rules (per OSYSA) for U08 through U12 teams. U08, U09 and U10 teams will play 6v6...U11 and U12 teams will play 8v8...and U13 + teams will play 11v11.
